Manufacturing.

The Work Behind the Work

Custom manufacturers and industrial engineering firms lose a surprising amount of expert time to work that is essential but repetitive: validating enquiries, checking fit for purpose, pricing, re-keying orders into the ERP, and hunting down the opportunities worth quoting on.

None of that needs a transformation programme. It needs one well-defined job automated properly, running in your own environment, before you commit to the next one. For one custom metal manufacturer that first job now handles around 450 enquiries a day.

What We Do for Manufacturers

Automation and modernisation that fit around the systems and standards you already work to.

Enquiry-to-order automation: read, check against your rules, price, and write into the ERP.

Opportunity discovery across tenders, registers and industry sources, filtered to what is worth a call.

Quality and fit-for-purpose checks as a consistent first pass in front of your experts.

Private AI over drawings, specifications and decades of project history, on your own systems.

System and platform migrations that preserve the knowledge embedded in them.

Automating the Search for Relevant Sales Opportunities

An AI workflow that watches tenders, registers and industry publications, and filters them down to the opportunities worth a call - around 20 a week.

Challenge

The most valuable opportunities appear across tenders, project announcements, public registers and industry publications. Monitoring them manually took time, and broad keyword alerts generated more noise than useful leads.

Solution

Digit Automate - AI workflow design and lead-generation automation

We worked with Oilpath Hydraulics to define what counts as a relevant opportunity and translate that into an automated workflow: identifying the sectors, services and signals that matter, selecting suitable public sources, defining filtering and qualification criteria, and using AI to interpret and rank what it finds. The workflow supports commercial judgement rather than replacing it.

The system now identifies approximately 20 potentially relevant opportunities per week, giving Oilpath a repeatable source of business-development intelligence while cutting manual research effort - immediate operational value without an organisation-wide transformation.

Preserving Project Knowledge Through a Complex Migration

We separated Jira and Confluence environments from CODAN's infrastructure and moved them into Caterpillar's - preserving years of issues, attachments, histories and cross-references intact.

Challenge

Following an acquisition, Jira and Confluence environments had to move between two organisations without losing the operational knowledge, links and history embedded in them.

Solution

Digit Move - Atlassian migration planning and implementation

This was more complex than copying projects and pages. Jira issues and Confluence content held years of operational knowledge, attachments, links, comments, histories and relationships - and losing those connections would have reduced the value of the migrated information and disrupted the teams relying on it.

We reviewed both environments, identified projects, spaces, users and dependent content, mapped the differences, sequenced the migration, preserved issue details and references, validated the links between Jira and Confluence content, and tested everything before handover. Caterpillar received a consolidated environment with the project knowledge and cross-references intact.
